1. You should try to keep in touch with your employee during their sick leave period. You may contact them regularly to show your care and allow them to rest and recover.
2. You can arrange a work meeting with your injured employee before they return to work for understanding their abilities, constraints and concerns. You can also discuss with them any initial arrangement when they resume work, to help them understand the duty requirement and your expectation for them. (For example, arrangement for light duty, weight bearing restrictions, etc.)
3. Injured employee may need to face various degrees of constraint and difficulty in the early period of returning to work. As far as permitted, you should try to accommodate their need and let them feel that they are being accepted and supported in their workplace.
4. You can show your caring and encouragement to the rehabilitated employee so to help him/her to regain confidence from work.
